Hako Bako
The inception of our venture traces back to a simple question that arose in the minds of our founding partners, Patricia and Tadashi, after a series of unsatisfactory sushi experiences at home during the pandemic.
“How can we bring the authentic spirit of Omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) to discerning sushi enthusiasts like us?”
This led to the creation of an exceptional service tailored to meet the needs of the most demanding sushi connoisseurs, in the comfort of their homes. The concept was born out of the crisis of 2020.
This sparked the birth of a sustainable approach to packaging and delivering sushi. At the time, our method was already innovative and generated no waste such as bags, wrapping, utensils and dressing packages.
In 2022, we pioneered the use of a biodegradable box made from responsibly sourced bamboo and recycled bamboo fibers. This exclusive packaging solution, used only by the Omotebako Hospitality Group in Brazil, is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The technological advancement of our packaging material enhances the customer experience by preserving the taste of the sushi rice (shari) and maintaining the freshness of the fish. This innovative solution is also used by top sushi restaurants in Japan.
